Appearance - Rill is a man of 165 cm and 75 kg; he has a good frame for facing the endless blizzard. He doesn't bother to shave his face but trims his beard to be relatively short every now and then. His hair is long. As a ranger he has no stable home and thus carries his small wealth with him almost always. He wears simple and functional clothes. He has small ears, high cheekbones, rather deep-set eyes and a large narrow nose. His hair is brown, complexion fair and his eyes are a mostly brownish mess of un-definition.
Personality - Rill is rather gruff around the edges and seems like a loner type but is not an unpleasant person. He is confident enough in his own abilities and tries to keep up the appearance of an aloof but professional guide.
After seeing and saving many people from the endless white wastes, he has come to see how similar people are at their most basic level; they need food, company, privacy and a sense of safety. Since he mostly has thorough experiences of people that have only needed their very basic needs sated, he is tired of and unable to comprehend the power struggles and antagonizing that often happen in cities. He believes in an ideal that everyone should just get along, help each other and be friends. Thus he has little patience for those who go on about how someone else is superior or inferior. People are only different. That said, even he still has reservations toward those he finds completely alien or those who have reservations toward him.
Rill has tried several forms of entertainment (like going to theater, eating, painting, visiting prostitutes, reading or drinking) during his life and this far the only thing he has enjoyed noticeably is solving and making crossword puzzles.
History - Rill's parents worked mostly in the lone trains, helping them to move back and forth between their destinations. As a timid child, Rill didn't have much love for the people always coming and going, and once he was old enough, he preferred to do simple physical work like loading. He also studied a little about the operations of the train and helped with them, but chose not to make that his career. His younger siblings adapted to train life better than he did. As he grew into adulthood, after a quite failed romance with another child born and raised in the trains, he decided to leave and make a life of his own.
Rill spent some time in the Royal City but found it too bustling, like the trains. He then signed up for a team to brave the blizzard. He didn't in all honesty like it very much, but at least there were no people bustling. Years passed and he eventually grew on the job and even enjoyed it. He only needed to care about himself and his few companions, and whatever they happened to find in the cold-preserved ruins always brought a sense of wonder.
Rill has currently fallen out of his usual team because of a failed romance with another team member, and he has been wondering whether he is doing something wrong with respect to that.
